The legendary Spanish defender reacted to the news of Huijsen sealing a move to Los Blancos by posting a well-wishing message on his Instagram story. Real Madrid announced on Saturday morning that they had activated Huijsen's £50 million ($66m) release clause and agreed terms with the defender to join the club before this summer's Club World Cup.

The defender made 671 appearances for the club, making him the fourth-highest appearance maker in Madrid's history. He won 22 trophies with the club including five La Liga titles, four Champions Leagues, two Copas del Rey, four Club World Cups, three UEFA Super Cups and four Spanish Super Cups. Huijsen will be dreaming of replicating a career akin to Ramos'.

Huijsen has two more games to play in a Bournemouth shirt before he joins Madrid. The Cherries travel to Manchester City before closing out the season with a home game against Leicester. After the conclusion of this campaign, he will join Los Blancos in time for the Club World Cup.
