According to Sky Sources, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tom Huddlestone will shortly complete his move to Stoke City on a season-long loan.

On Wednesday Huddlestone underwent a medical at Stoke’s Clayton Wood training ground. Stoke City winger Jermaine Pennant expressed his delight at the arrival of his friend from Spurs tweeting, “I walked into training and got a shock, saw my friend Tom Huddlestone… On loan until end of season, good signing.”

Huddlestone, 25, was absent for virtually the whole of the 2011/12 campaign with a recurrent ankle injury. It is thought that Villas-Boas wants to allow Huddlestone time on the pitch in a bid to get his  career back on track.

The England international, who began his career at Derby County, joins a long list of players who have been shown the door at White Hart Lane since manager Andre Villas-Boas’ arrival. These players include Vederan Corluka, Niko Kranjcar, Louis Saha, Ryan Nelsen, Ledley King, Steven Pienaar and most recently Sebastian Bassong.
